Exploration & targeting review

Why this service is needed

Mineral exploration is becoming progressively more difficult and expensive.

Discovery rates have declined as the industry is increasingly required to search beneath transported cover, weathering profiles and deeper geological sequences, while the cost of field programs, geophysics, drilling and technical services continues to rise. Many exploration programs still progress through established workflows that are not always optimised for the specific deposit style, geological environment or commercial objectives of the company.

Having formally reviewed hundreds of exploration projects over the past five years, I have identified a clear need for a rapid, independent technical assessment—before significant additional expenditure is committed.

Even a short, focused review from a “second set of eyes” can identify potentially overlooked targets, gaps in critical datasets, weaknesses in geological or mineral-system interpretations, and provide an independent second assessment of proposed drill targets and exploration priorities.

One recent project: a critical existing dataset had been overlooked during the targeting process, resulting in substantial expenditure on a deep diamond drill hole that, had a more comprehensive and integrated review been undertaken, could potentially have been better targeted, modified or avoided altogether.

We do not replace a company's existing geologists, we work with your geologists by providing an opportunity for a quick, professional review and a second set of eyes where needed.
